Beaches of Cannes
Sun, sand and sea just 300 metres from the apartment.

One of the greatest assets of a stay in Cannes is the sea on your doorstep. From our apartment in old Le Suquet you walk to the beach in a few minutes, where you begin the day with a morning dip or end it with an aperitif at sunset. And unlike many places on the Riviera, where the coast is pebbly, Cannes has wonderful broad sandy beaches. That makes the city exceptionally popular with anyone seeking sun, sea and the relaxed Mediterranean way of life, just 300 metres from the front door. Discover more in our surroundings.
Beach clubs along the Croisette
Along the Boulevard de la Croisette lie the famous private beach clubs (plages privées). For a fee you rent a comfortable sun lounger with parasol and are served a fresh lunch or a cocktail with your feet almost in the sand. It is a quintessential Cannes experience: to see and be seen, with the palm trees and the luxury hotels in the background. Many clubs have their own atmosphere and cuisine, from simple salads to refined dishes, and for decades they have been a fixed part of the city's fashionable life.
The public Plages du Midi
Those who prefer to lie casually on a towel will also find freely accessible stretches of public beach along the Croisette. On the western side of the city, close to Le Suquet, lie the Plages du Midi: spacious, mainly public sandy beaches that are popular with the residents of Cannes themselves. The atmosphere there is just a little more relaxed and the water is just as clear and blue. Because these beaches are within walking distance of the apartment, they are ideal for a spontaneous dip in between or a lazy day without any fuss.
The beach by old Cannes
Le Suquet, the historic quarter where the apartment lies, looks out over the old harbour and the bay. From here you walk via the Vieux Port and the charming little streets straight to the water. It is a special privilege to stay in the heart of old Cannes and to have the sea a stone's throw away: to the beach in the morning, back for lunch at midday and an evening terrace with a sea view. Watersports and outings from the sea
The bay of Cannes lends itself perfectly to watersports: from swimming and paddleboarding to a boat trip along the coast. From the old harbour, boats regularly depart for the Lérins Islands, ideal to combine with a beach day: the beach in the morning, the wooded Sainte-Marguerite or the peaceful Saint-Honorat in the afternoon. A trip along the rugged coast, with its red rocks plunging into the sea, is breathtaking from the water too — explore more in our surroundings.
During the film festival
In May the atmosphere along the Croisette changes completely: during the Cannes Film Festival the boulevard buzzes with glamour, with stars, photographers and a festive crowd. Even then the beaches remain accessible, and it is a unique experience to combine the glitter of the festival with a refreshing dip in the bay. Outside that period the coast is delightfully quiet.
Practical
The beaches of Cannes are worth visiting all year round, but from late spring into autumn the water is at its most pleasant. Don't forget your sunscreen, as the Côte d'Azur sun is generous, and in high season plan an early start to secure the finest spot. A hat, water and a good book make a beach day in Cannes complete.
Sun and sea from the apartment
Just 300 metres from the beach, our apartment in Le Suquet is the ideal base for a holiday in which the sea plays a leading role. Take a look at the apartment and the available dates, and enjoy from old Cannes the sand, the sun and the azure water of the Riviera.
